In conversation with activists using ‘radical compassion’ to heal historically divisive communities.
Introducing the ACT OF ISMS Podcast [LISTEN]
My friend Maria Prichard and I are ready to find out what resilience looks like when we stop resisting. And from that enthusiastic curiosity, the ACT OF ISMS podcast was born.
Both of us feel that there are too few spaces for positivity in our current culture of right and wrong. Our current political climate encourages us to stare so hard at the problem, that we miss the solutions – and the solutions are all around us! Despite all the qualities that make us different, there is a shared sense of humanity between all of us, and we are here to explore it.
WHAT IS ACT OF ISMS?
ACT OF ISMS is an intimate narrative podcast that gives voice to the unseen activists making an impact every day through groundbreaking models and radically compassionate dialogue. But these aren’t the activists you may be thinking of. Like James Joyce III, Chief Visionary Officer of Coffee with a Black Guy or Pony Sweat creator Emilia Richeson. Can coffee be activism? Is dance aerobics a viable access point to reducing prejudice? We don’t just think so, we know so. Safe spaces like these – and so many more – create opportunities for candid conversations about the collective community we call our culture.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Through a lens of radical compassion, we believe that our ideologies can unite us rather than divide us. Whatever side of the issue you are on, there is a safe space for you here at ACT OF ISMS. Together, we will weave together stories of determination, unity, and resilience, bound by action. These are the stories that cut right through prejudices and remind us that we are all working toward the same goal: to be heard, to be seen, and to connect with our fellow humans.
This isn’t just a podcast, it’s an experiment, it’s a community, it’s a way of life. Join us!
